Linking Accounts
I did not know that I could link my games - I owned Guild Wars and then bought Nightfall not knowing that I could use my first character in night fall. If I uninstall and reinstall on my computer will I be able to link in that way. As it is now, When I choose my first character it does not ask me where I want to go. It just takes me to Guild Wars.

Sorry to tell you, but you can't link them now. You could try contacting guild wars support but I don't think they will/can do anything.

I did this, but with my factions.
It's possible to link, send a support ticket to A-net support. In the message, send account names/passwords, the account you want to get de-activated and the account you want to remain active and your CD keys. so basically, if you want to destroy your prophecies account and get a new prophecies key, you tell them to get rid of prophecies. If you want that done to nightfall, replace the word prophecies with nightfall. I hope I helped =] |

As has been stated, it is possible through support to link your two unlinked accounts, however it is up to supports discretion as to whether or not they will do it (new accounts will definitely have better chances than older ones) and how ANet does it is that they make the key for one your accounts invalid and then ive you a new key. This means that anything on the invalid account is now GONE, characters will have to be recreated from scratch, skills unlocked again, gold earned again, etc etc etc.

My heart felt suggestion if one of your character accounts is going to get destroyed, find someone you trust - guild member more than likely would be best, to hold your things for you, if they can possibly for this very reason.
that way you don't loose out on too much. |

Couldn't you just transfer your stuff to the account you're going to keep? Well, then you'll need a guildie to facilitate the transfer (unless you have more than one computer). And like the others have said, you can send a ticket to support, but they choose whether they're gonna deactivate one them or not.
Edited: I meant deactivate, just used merge out of habit Last edited by RPGmaniac; Oct 11, 2007 at 06:01 AM // 06:01.. |

Not merge, de-activate the chosen account and re-issue you with a new key.
They said they were going to do that, I then tried logging into the apparently de-activated account and it still worked. You might get lucky like I did. |
